Your pet is not currently showing, so I cant see what lvl it is, but once a pet reaches the same lvl as you it wont gain anymore exp, untill you lvl up.
Your pet has already reached its limit on level 7. Since a pet cannot have a higher level than its owner it will only start getting experience when you are on level 8.
